Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 5th grade math at a Title I school in Texas. I am blessed to teach such a diverse group of students each and every day. My students come from different backgrounds and many of our families are economically disadvantaged. I strive daily to engage my students in meaningful learning activities, as well as enrich their daily lives. In order to fully impact all of my students, I strive to continue my education and learn new and improved ways to educate each child that steps into my classroom. I couldn't imagine doing anything else, teaching is my destiny.

My Project

I would LOVE the opportunity to attend the Ron Clack Academy Two-Day Educator Training. I am inspired by the non-traditional teaching methods, hands-on activities, and relationships that Ron Clark Academy (RCA) is able to offer their students.

As a teacher who aspires to constantly improve and refine my skills, attending RCA would be a life-changing experience.

This project covers the cost of registration for the training and a portion of the cost of transportation. This training would allow me to have an inside look at the Ron Clark Academy - a place that is giving children a reason to love going to school. I would love to learn from the educators who are able to make this impact on children's lives and collaborate with colleagues attending this training. If I was blessed with the opportunity to attend Ron Clark Academy Educator Training, I would take every opportunity to share my experience with my fellow colleagues so we can work together towards creating a school environment that promotes student engagement and gives students a reason to love going to school.

The Ron Clark Academy is well known in the education community for the effective manner in which they cultivate positive relationships among students and staff members, who come from all walks of life. Attending this training would allow me the opportunity to bring back the knowledge and skills to help implement a positive school culture at my campus.
