My Students

Our students are a wonderful, quirky mix of kids from all ethnic, socio-economic and multi-learning backgrounds. They reflect what successful public education should look like. They are a community of learners that work together to create a respectful, ethical, safe environment that fosters learning. They, in essence, remind me a of a cubist painting. Individually, they are an eclectic group of subjects. Yet, they come together to create a wonderful, interesting and abstract portrait of an inner city public high school in the twenty first century.

My Project

The Qball+ Throwable Wireless Microphone will allow students to share their ideas and contribute to class discussions in class. The new normal in schools is wearing masks to help protect people from spreading COVID. Masks are absolutely essential. While they help to keep the virus out, they also keep quiet voices from being heard. Young students are at a critical point in their education. They are finding their voice. Please help them find their voices and donate so that we can purchase Wireless Microphones that are embedded in a ball. These microphone balls can be thrown from student-to-student during class discussions. They are a safe way for students to engage and amplify their voices in our new masked classrooms.
