I am a brand new preschool teacher and have 16 incredible student explorers. My students will spend this school year ready to explore through play and guidance.
The children are 4 years old and need hands-on experiences in order to understand their world.
All of my babies come from low-income homes and may have more challenges than most other 4 years olds. No matter what their home lives may be, I vow to provide the best Pre-K experience that I can. I want to strive to make my room safe, engaging, and fun.
My Project
I am amazed by how much my 4 year old Super Sloths have grown so far this year. We started out with most of our class learning together at whole group or spread throughout the room for centers. Now that my students have started to really grasp school and have started to show areas where they excel and where they still need a lot of support, we need a space for smaller groups.
My dream is for my classroom to model the kindergarten ones before they move on from Pre-K, and this includes teaching small groups at an easy to learn space.
I want the students to be given focused time with myself and my assistant to really hone in on what they want and need to learn. With a kidney bean table, I would be able to provide a wonderful small group learning environment without taking up very much space.
This table would have many uses as well. When not at small groups, students could use this table for puzzles, projects, blocks, and so much more. Please help me provide my students with a space that has so much potential for learning.
