Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

HSFI started up a Band Club last year with great success. We had kids who never played an instrument before playing in a band and performing at the school to our community. We have accomplished this on a shoestring budget with no supplies paid for by the school, and have used lots of our own money and equipment to make this possible.

Having music in a school curriculum should be a given!

There are no music classes offered at our school despite having mostly students who identify themselves as creatives. I have sought to fill this gap, and am offering lessons in multiple instruments, songwriting, and band. WE want to create music videos, and view concerts and music lessons, but we need a video projector to make this possible in our band room.
