Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently teach 25 students in the Bronx. They truly love learning, and they are typically very engaged. Especially when I create anchor charts. They love the pictures, the colors, and even seeing their names included in the examples.

Anchor charts help provide a roadmap that helps guide the students along the way.

It helps them to work independently by giving them access to the process. For children with memory difficulties, it allows them access to assistance.

One of the best ways to help students learn is by providing them with anchor charts for the classroom. Anchor charts help to make thinking visible. You are able to capture the most important parts of the lesson and children are able to access it as they need it. The more ways students can access information about a subject, the more they are able to connect with it and recall the information. When students are involved in the process of creating the anchor chart, they are truly able to understand and apply the concepts they are learning. Students who are able to understand what they are learning are more confident and happier. In my experience creating anchor charts helps with making the information stick.

Anchor charts help build connections by bringing lessons to life. They help to develop comprehension skills and increase engagement. In addition, they help to build good readers and help children learn how to work independently. Please help me create an environment of independent learners who truly love learning.
