My Students

My school is located in a low-income neighborhood with students from diverse backgrounds. Over 95% of the population qualifies for free school meals. We are a Title I school. My classroom consists of special needs students who put their best foot forward every day.

My upper elementary are eager to learn and deserve quality materials.

With differentiated learning needs, having the right materials and resources is key. Each student is unique and has different learning styles. We deserve quality resources and experiences that will shape their future. Being that we are a Title I school, however, it’s often a challenge to find funding to purchase materials and resources. Basic classroom supplies and technology are in high demand in our school. Our students deserve to experience high-quality education and resources to nurture their learning experience.

My Project

This project will help my students get access to quality strength training especially since we are unable to play some of our team sports due to health concerns. My students come in part-time and are transitioning to middle school. This equipment will allow me to resume facilitating our track & field team with equipment that is friendly for social distancing. This equipment will help our coaches feel more equipped to facilitate our track & field team and we can meet in the schoolyard to ensure social distancing. I will also be able to facilitate a track and field team practices but it will also allow our new partnership with neighboring middle schools. This equipment will help my students get back some of what they are missing elements with team sports so I would like to help bridge the gap.

They are at an age where they are expressing their interests to be fit loud and clear.

This will be able to improve their access to more safe and effective equipment during practice and our upcoming season. Our students would benefit greatly with any donation amount. It all will make a difference. I work hard to set an example and show my students the benefits of actively making a difference! Pun intended.
