Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The floor is no place for beautiful artwork done by children! Our students’ art portfolios are currently being stored on the floor and need a safe place that is going to help preserve their projects.

Our creative students are from a high poverty, high needs public elementary school in New York City.

Art is an essential part of their education and they take pride in the art they create. Our school is very supportive of the arts, but our budget can't accommodate what our students need to maintain an art studio.

My Project

The art portfolio cabinet will remain in the art studio and will be easily accessible so that the children in each class can obtain their artwork from the portfolios each art period. Having the cabinet will ensure that their artwork will not get damaged and the children will further understand the value of their art. It will also keep the artwork presentable so that it can be hung up at the end of the year for our school's art exhibition.

This donation will make a difference for our students because it will reinforce their understanding that the art they create is important and it should be respected, as well as cared for properly.

It will also improve our classroom because it will make it more presentable as a studio and not just an ordinary classroom!
