Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach full-day preschool with children from many different backgrounds. We are a Title I school. The preschool program is free to these families thanks to a state grant. However, we rely on donations to fund all the supplies and other classroom needs.

Art, and science and crafts materials are also very beneficial for young children to develop their fine motor and language skills.

The multi-age preschool students at our school are creative thinkers who love to explore Art, and science and crafts materials play freely and share their ideas. By exploring the materials listed(chairs, toys, cards, etc.) through process art projects, science center, and crafter material play, my students will have the opportunity to practice communication and literacy skills and meet their sensory needs. These items will help with art diversity and maths fine motor, getting these preschoolers' fingers ready to write their names. My goal for this project is to expose all these elements to my students and prepare them for kindergarten next school year.

What makes my students special is that they are always ready to learn new things, and with these new materials, that is precisely what I can show them in the classroom. My students are always prepared to help out and ready to learn.
