A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are wonderful, motivated, excited, and active fourth graders. They attend a Title I elementary school; many of them come from homes affected by poverty. Despite the hardships my students face, they arrive to class with a positive attitude, looking forward to the school day ahead. I hope to harness this excitement and provide these kids with cutting-edge tech tools that can help them keep up with the ever-changing world around them. My students deserve the same opportunities as students in neighboring schools, and this project will expose them to experiences they may not ever be otherwise afforded.
My Project
In fourth grade, Florida students are supposed to learn about Florida's rich history. Everything from the Seminole tribe to NASA to Florida's role in the civil rights movement is supposed to be covered in fourth grade's social studies curriculum.
There is only one problem: I have no social studies textbook!
All of the materials I use to expose students to their rich histories, I have to purchase myself! This project will allow me to purchase a full social studies curriculum and supplemental materials, including plays, journals, and projects that will allow my students to fully immerse themselves in how Florida was in the past, where we are now, and what the state can be in the future.
