This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When you see a student who is grumpy, feeling "out of it", has their head down at their desk, is not in the mood to learn, as the teacher you wonder what could be wrong. When you go up to them and have a conversation and you ask them what's wrong, most of the time the answer you get is, "I didn't eat that's all" or if you ask them "Did you eat anything for the day", their reply is mostly "no".

Learning is hindered when students are hungry.

Instead of listening to the mini lesson or listening to the questions being asked they can't help but listen to their stomachs. This platform is very useful in providing me with snack resources our students like in an effort to solve the hunger crisis students experience throughout the day.

I plan to use these resources to feed our children, at least something in the middle of the day so that they can go back to class feeling revived. With these resources I plan to let all our children know that if there ever feeling hungry they can come to me and I'll provide them with something to eat.

This will support our students inside the classroom, they depend on us as their teachers to support them not just in their learning. This is my way of supporting their lives beyond just the realm of learning. They rely on us. Your help is very much appreciated.
