My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to help my students stay motivated and have fun learning.

My students enjoy coming to school each day.

The love learning and researching new things. They just need the tools that will help them achieve these goals. Our students range from visual to tactile learners. They work best with color coded charts showing them each step of the way.

My Project

The materials in this project will directly impact the reading growth of my students on a daily basis. The bins will hold the leveled library books, both fiction and nonfiction. By having clearly labeled bins, students will be able to easily access all the books that correlate to their reading level.

Having flexible seating options will motivate students to read.

In our classroom library we want to create a safe and comfortable environment that students enjoy visiting. This will increase the amount of reading they do, and help them ultimately grow as readers.

This project also includes a set of leveled books that will enhance the selection in our library. The books are all different levels, and will benefit the different readers in our classroom.
