This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school has about 300 students who study from Pre-K to 5th grade. Most of them are African American children and Hispanic children. Most of them come from low-income families. They are nice and respectful when they interact with other people. They smile at people when they meet people in the morning. Some of them are struggling in math and English, but they work very hard to overcome the challenges. It is my pleasure to be their teacher in the school this year.
My Project
My special-needs students love completing coding assignments on computers and reading colorful comic books. It will be awesome if they read comic coding books to develop their coding concepts. The Secret Coders series are the most entertained and informational comic books for elementary school students. Many of my students' reading levels are below their grade levels because they have learning disabilities. They have a difficult time to read regular textbooks. They need to read books that are colorful and include cartoons. After my students finish reading the books, they would write essays about coding, draw pictures about coding, and present their coding concepts in class.
