This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Your donation can help me provide a full set of books for students who haven't had the opportunity to read a whole class novel this year.
In our British and World Literature course, so much more focus is spent on British lit, and with the purchase of this novel, we can read something outside the central narrative of Great Britain and discuss the complex themes of identity, loss, humanity, and life.
Students will collaborate with John Carroll University philosophy students to discuss philosophical themes and create unique final projects. Throughout our four-month collaboration with these students and future educators, my students will have the opportunity to discuss life's unanswerable questions, create once-in-a-lifetime final projects, and more. Reading this novel alongside their work will be the final piece to really make a great impact on their learning.
