Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten class is made up of students from many different cultures.

Most of the students' parents are first generation immigrants to the United States. Most parents do not speak English and receive public assistance or are living with minimum wage jobs. My class is an ICT class which means some students are learning disabled and receive services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and guidance.

My Project

With these amazing books my students will enjoy read alouds with the teacher, literacy circles and partner reading. They will learn more about how other people live and important facts that happened in history. Reading fiction is important to prepare for the future test taking strategies. I will also use these books to supplement writing as well. This will help me model non fiction writing too.

My students will be enthusiastic getting new materials for the classroom.

They will also feel important and cared for when I explain to them about how these books were donated. It will inspire the students to be kind to others in return.
