My Project

You will be helping me foster a welcoming and supportive community. It has been my dream to have a carpet for community time. Some think 5th grade is too old, but they love sitting in a circle just as much as 1st graders do. This year we will focus heavily on emotional regulation through discussions of feelings. I've included many materials to help this effort.

The boardgames will address my students' deep desire to play in non-digital ways.

Many of them are not allowed outside of their apartments and spend most days inside watching TV or on a smartphone. They have played monopoly a few times, and they LOVE it. I want a class set so it's always an option for indoor recess.
