Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is starting a Cougar Clubhouse where students can redeem points earned throughout their days and weeks for preferred items. We have numerous students who contribute to the positive culture at our school in a variety of ways. To spread the influence of this positive culture we would like to highlight the specifics of what creates this culture while showing gratitude to these stand-out students. Admin, teachers and support staff recognize and acknowledge students who are excelling or improving in the classroom, demonstrating acts of kindness, showing respect to staff and peers, deciding to be helpful when needed, leading their peers and participating in conflict resolution.

Encourage our Middle Schoolers to Spread their Positivity as they Lead us in Fostering a Safe and Respectful Environment Conducive to Learning.

At the end of last school year we polled students to learn what they would most want available for purchase in a school store. I have included those items in this project. Our students are excited to be able to earn points to purchase these items, be in charge of their rewards and their "money" and finally be recognized for their contribution to their community outside of just "work" and "grades". School should be fun and our days need more joy. This will be a joyous addition to our Middle School providing leadership opportunities and allowing our students to feel appreciated.
