My Students

“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” Dr. Seuss wrote this in "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!", and you can help my students learn more by reading and help them on their educational journey.

We are a third grade class, with a passion for reading.

Our class loves to go to the library and share books with each other. We have the best time when we are able to browse books we haven't seen before or books that are related to content we are learning in class. If you come into our classroom, you will see students spending time enjoying a good book at their desk or on the rug. This is my first year teaching third grade and I have a limited supply of books. I would love for our class library to grow so my students will be able to enjoy it for years to come.

My Project

These books will improve my students' education because they will have more reading material. At this time, we are going to our school library every 2 weeks and our class library is very limited. I have chosen books that are related to each reading unit and I will be able to put them out for the students to enjoy. This will allow them to find the reading units more meaningful. Also, the thesauruses will build my students' vocabulary. They will be able to look up words and find synonyms and antonyms for words they find in their reading. This is a weekly activity we have been doing in class, with only 5 thesauruses. If we are able to get them, the students will be able to share with a partner.

These books will make a difference because we will have resources in our own classroom to use and we will not have to wait to go to the library to get books. The impact this project will have on my students is that our classroom library will have books that they are interested in sharing and reading with each other.
