My Project

This is my first year teaching first grade. We have a brand new language arts curriculum. I want to expand my classroom library to help build my students' knowledge through stories and books.

Reading comprehension occurs when children combine background knowledge with word recognition.

I want to give my students a wide variety of stories and books to choose from and enjoy. All the books will build their background knowledge and help them on their way to becoming skilled readers.

My students can choose and read books from my classroom library on a daily basis.
