My Students

We live in a world full of technology. Integrating technology into our student's learning is a goal of our school. I strive to create a stimulating and engaging environment for students to learn and grow. Nothing gets children more excited than learning to use technology!

WISH is truly a magical place!

All of our classrooms are an inclusive setting, with students of all modalities and strengths. My classroom and instructional choices need to be varied and match our various students' needs so that we can all progress and move through second grade together. In second grade, students not only learn the foundation of their education, such as strengthening their reading skills, adding/subtracting, and writing detailed stories, but they also learn how to thrive in a classroom environment. Because of our students' diverse needs, we need to be able to provide all types of learners with ways to access the curriculum that provide opportunities for independence. Having a document camera would be an amazing way to help our students meet these goals!

My Project

Having a document camera will allow students to see on the SmartBoard whatever it is we are working on. From a worksheet, to a puzzle, picture, or whatever it may be, all students, especially visual learners, will be able to have more independence in completing their activity. Instead of writing several sentences on the board and having the students copy from there, the document camera would allow me to write these sentences on the actual worksheet the students are working on right in front of them, which will lead to less confusion and again, more independence.

A document camera is the most cost effective way to give all students a way to visually see as a class on the Smart Board any document or activity we are working on.

It also gives me a manageable way to show students what it is we are working on as we complete it together.
