This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fourth graders love reading books and being read to. Unfortunately, the carpet I have is very old and falling apart. It desperately needs replaced and our school district does not provide us with one! Just look at the picture! I would love to bring the class to the carpet for read-alouds and to teach lessons, plus the students love to do their classwork or read books there. They are so much more productive when they can work comfortably and are enthusiastic about coming to reading class!

The students also do a lot of amazing projects online using digital technology.

They have created some amazing visual presentations, posters, and colorful projects, and I would love to print it off and display it. I also create a lot of colorful posters and charts myself because color makes everything more visually appealing. The only problem is, our school only has a black and white copier, so it can be a letdown for students to see their beautiful, colorful projects printed off in black and white. I can only print so much on my personal printer at home because ink is so expensive, so it would be very beneficial to have a color printer. It would also be used by the other fourth grade teachers.
