My Students

My kindergarteners may be small, but do not let their size fool you. These kids have the biggest hearts and the strongest drive to succeed. They aren’t afraid to ask questions, try new things, and create their own plans for solving problems. Their curiosity, warm personalities, and desire to learn are inspiring. Even though 81% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches at our Title I school, they are still able to overcome these challenges and flourish. They’re trailblazers!

My Project

A Scholastic News subscription will give each of my kindergarteners their own print and digital copy to a Scholastic News issue. They will also have access to non-fiction videos that correlate with the Scholastic News articles and Kindergarten standards. My students will also have access to 32 learning games and 64 printable activity sheets to keep my students engaged both at home and at school. The topics covered in the Scholastic News articles are all related to the Kindergarten Common Core standards and have engaging themes that correlate to each month in the year.
