My Project

Bison Theatre is getting a new storage building, and that means that when we clear all of the stored furniture, costumes, props and various other items from our shop, we will be able to outfit and use it the way it is intended to be used.

A mounted miter saw will allow us a safe and efficient way to cut lumber for our projects.

Right now, we use a couple of sawhorses (when we have room) or some other useable surface to lay wood out on and use a circular saw to cut - we end up with less-than-perfect edges and often waste wood and end up with less-than-perfect projects. This saw will let us improve on that and will allow us to work more safely.

This equipment will allow us to expand our projects in both our theatre tech groups who produce for our performances and for my Theatre 1 class which will be learning about all aspects of being a part of theatre. It will also benefit my students who compete in theatrical design. We will be able to learn about and use safe working skills and build items that will allow us to grow our program. We may even be able to create items that we can sell as fundraisers to help snowball our investment. The possibilities are endless!
