Help Binder Math Class

Help me give my students ring binders and dividers for math class. These will help them work toward success in math. A vast majority of my students come from Title I feeder schools and can't afford the supplies.

My Project

Many students coming from elementary school into middle school lack the basic skills of organization. This overall lack of organization is a major hindrance to their achieving success in math class. Their lack of organization keeps them from being able to study the needed material because they are unable to locate it. In my math class, I attempt to break the cycle of disorganization by providing students needed organizational tools. Once the students are organized, they can begin to focus on the patterns and organization of math skills.

My middle school is fed by 4 elementary schools and 3 of them are Title I schools.

The students from these schools are from family situations in which school supplies can be a burden on the family. By providing my students with the needed binders and dividers, I can give them a leg up in the process of learning math. As overall math scores in my county, state, and nation are on a downward trend, I want my students not to be a part of the trend. Instead, I strive for them to buck the trend and raise their scores through organizing their math materials in a way that they can master the skills presented.
