Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What I love about my students is their characters. They are each unique in their own ways and despite their tribulations, they have chosen to embark on a new opportunity placed before them. My students are filled with character, perseverance, and experiences. These are students who have struggled to keep up in the past and were overwhelmed with online/remote learning.

Because of the current climate, they couldn't quite figure out how to balance out everything.

They have all been given a chance to complete classes and I want to make sure that my choice in books are culturally relevant, interesting, motivating, and something I know they will enjoy and actually read. I have had students speak on books they were forced to read and then they are labeled "unmotivated" or "careless" when that isn't the case. These students just want something that they can see themselves in or see a friend in, that shows them that no matter where we are in life, despite our situations or pasts, we all can succeed and make something great out of themselves. With this new school reality, they need that right now.

My Project

This monitor will make online zoom meetings more seamless and easy to maneuver, giving a better experience to both teacher and students. Keeping everything on one limited monitor makes it more challenging to juggle all of the things educators have to juggle in a single class period.

From sharing your screen to working with multiple tabs, opening up and sharing DOCs, slides and different links, it can seem difficult for teachers to stay organized on one monitor which can lead to a loss of class time.

The smallest delay can cost students to become disinterested and everything must be paced superfluously. An extra monitor will make organization effortless giving more emphasis to student need.
