Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am moving to a new school on Chicago's northwest side, where there has never been a theatre program before. Every student in the school will take this theatre class so I am aiming to create a vibrant and engaging environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their skills in the performing arts.

While I am estactic to bring the performance arts to this school, I am literally walking into a blank space.

The items on this list will help me with basic supplies I need to run a classroom as well as books and decorative items, such as posters, geared specifically for drama and theatre in the classroom. I have asks for bins to organize props and a clothing rack for costumes. I also included clay to create props or set diaromas and notebooks for directing. I also know a good glue can always fix an emergency! I hope these items will create a strong start for a new classroom space that is both welcoming and informative. I hope the items on the list will allow me to meet the needs of all my students, as it is a diverse student population.

I have dreams to make this the best theatre program ever. As a theatre kid myself, I know how large of a role the arts can be when it comes to both individual confidence and team building skills. I want to make a great first impression for students who have never engaged in theatre so they can be both engrossed and successful for years to come.
