My Students

This unprecedented pandemic event has hit my students hard. Most of my resource program students are not prepared for the big shift of learning at school to learning at home. Even though they all received a computer device for distance learning from school after two weeks of school closure, they face various challenges of using computer to connect with me and their teachers, and to access instruction remotely.

Even though the journey of distance learning is far from easy for most of my students, they do not let themselves be defeated by all the challenges.

Both my students and their parents persist to overcome the problems with the computer login, unstable internet connection, and signing in to apps and learning platforms. With the joint efforts from their families and their strong motivation to learn, we are able to maintain our weekly learning schedule and keep learning!

My Project

My students enjoy coming to my virtual classroom everyday. This is their safe place where they can see their teacher for instruction and hang out with their friends for their emotional and social needs. However, my old school computer constantly breaks down its internet connection during my instruction and it becomes a struggle for my students as they try to understand me.

An updated computer will definitely help solve the problem of breaking internet connection during my remote instruction via Zoom.

This will also save my valuable instructional time from being wasted by having to keep repeating, "Hello, can you hear me?" and "No. Mrs. Tang, your voice is lagging..."

This computer will be safeguarded at home and at school when we return to school. It will replace my old school laptop for instruction in classroom and benefit my students for a clear visual presentation of my lesson instruction.
