Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach first grade in a large, urban school district. Our classroom consists of students of varied academic levels. More than half of my students are from low‑income households. All receive free lunch. Their home lives are just as varied as they are.

My class is filled with very energetic 6 and 7-year-olds!

Despite their differences, they all have one thing in common. They are always excited about starting a new school year. Besides the "usual" school supplies, we need paper, cardstock, and other items to help us with "hands-on" learning. Our classroom will be a very busy and exciting place!
