Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are high schoolers that aspire to be artists in one form or another. They are hard-working students that truly desire to do their best in their academics. My students are also Multilingual Learners that have the double task of processing everything in two languages. Some of these same students also are in Special Education.

My Project

Students have been experiencing record levels of anxiety and stress ever since Remote Learning began. In our school, we have a dedicated special day for Mindfulness, Guidance Counselors are receiving an overwhelming number of appointments supporting students, and non-profit agencies are being welcomed in to provide additional supports in this area. I would like to provide these materials to help students and staff alike handle stress and anxiety in another healthy way...squeezing the heck out of a stress ball. As a mother, I have witnessed how happy and relaxed my own child became once he squeezed a stress ball. I would like to provide our Guidance Counselors with a box each of stress balls and mail out some stress balls to my students.
