Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In effort to cultivate a comfortable, cozy, education rich space for students to grow and enjoy, I plan to create a reading corner. By having comfortable chairs, pillows, and rug, students can immerse themselves in a book in whichever position they so choose. As well, I want to keep our books as physical books as much as possible in a heavily online world for students. By forming relationships with my students, I understand the importance of keeping their interests in mind for reading, and have carefully selected these books for them to enjoy and grow their reading skills from fluency to comprehension, and more!

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more.

Students today live in an online world, and when they come to school it is my hope that I can teach them not only the skills they need, but to enjoy the work that they are completing. By having choice in the classroom they can focus on their interests with independent reading and ultimately grow!

With a heavy importance on reading, there are also other tools for coding, enjoyment, and activities that will help students thrive. My goal is for students to enjoy school, and enjoy learning in any way that they may need!
