This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Everyone of my scholars....all 60 of them are special to me. They come from different backgrounds, different home environments, different levels and different stages and phases in life. One thing that they all have in common, is the desire to learn.

I am an educator in a low income/high poverty school district.

Some of my scholars face harsh challenges at home. They may come to school without the needed supplies or perhaps they come with the bare necessities, which isn't enough, and definitely won't last the entire year, let alone a quarter.

As an educator it's difficult to effectively educate when you don't have working equipment or the needed necessities for the equipment. If I could, I would ensure that my classroom had everything needed in order for my scholars to succeed. Unfortunately, that is a hard task for me to achieve on my own. I am looking to keep things simple and provide for my scholars the needed items in the classroom which will enhance and make their educational experience a rewarding one.

My Project

If I could, I would ensure that every computer in my classroom had durable headphones for each scholar to use. This way they can use the computer without having to turn the volume down so they won't disturb their peers who are not on the computer. Unfortunately, I can't when I have so many.

I am looking to keep things simple to provide for my scholars, the needed materials in the classroom which will enhance and make their educational experience a rewarding one.

Having enough headphones is a step in the right direction which will allow my scholars privacy and also will help keep them focused while working on the computer.
