Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second grade ESL teacher in a Dual Language program. This school year, my content area is English and Math. Most of my students have been learning English and Spanish since pre-kindergarten! Many of my students' native language is Spanish.

My students work diligently every day to learn to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.

I would like to provide new headphones with mouthpieces for each of our 2nd-grade student computers. TELPAS has listening and speaking portions, which are extremely important. We need our students to practice speaking and listening in class!

My Project

Essential components to the Texas English Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) are listening and speaking. Our English Language Learners benefit tremendously when they are able to practice listening and speaking. I am creating this project to provide headphones for each teacher in my second-grade team.

All students who use computers in our classroom tend to “love” their headphones quite a bit during the school year.

My class headphones have missing ear covers or broken mouthpieces. Wear and tear tends to happen often in second grade! When students return to computer stations, this fall, they will be able to listen and speak with new headphones! Please help!
