My Project

The students in my classroom are visionaries. They are our future leaders. With these attributes I have a duty to cultivate a learning environment that adapts to the students specific needs. My classroom consists of students with various learning disabilities. Noise can be extremely overwhelming for this population. Noise- cancelling headphones block out the external sounds and create a more controlled listening environment. In addition to having these different learning styles our students reside in an underserved urban community that leaves them at a disadvantage. I believe that having the necessary supplies to learn plays a major impact on their educational growth in a positive way!

The benefit to having headphones in the class is that they reduce distractions and improve concentration.

They are said to have the potential to enhance learning retention and reduce stress and anxiety. "A study in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America found noise- cancelling headphones can help students with Attention Deficit/ Hyper- Activity Disorder (ADHD) to focus. The study showed that students who used these headphones showed significant improvement in their task performance compared to without them." Your donation will give students a chance to improve their classwork as well as providing them with the supplies that they need.
