Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m lucky to teach an amazing group of special education students who inspire me every day with their determination and creativity. Many of my students rely on assistive technology—like text-to-speech and speech-to-text programs—to complete daily classroom tasks and access the curriculum.

Right now, one of the biggest challenges they face is background noise, which makes it hard for them to focus and use these tools effectively.

I’m requesting durable, noise-canceling headphones to help my students concentrate, engage with their learning, and work independently.

With these headphones, students will be able to listen to reading passages, follow along with text-to-speech tools, and use speech-to-text programs without distractions. This will not only help them complete assignments but also boost their confidence and sense of independence.

My goal is to create an inclusive classroom where all students have the tools they need to succeed. These headphones will help bridge gaps in learning and give my students the chance to shine.

What makes my students special is their resilience and eagerness to learn, even when things get tough. They work hard every day, and with your support, they’ll have one less barrier standing in their way.
