My Students

First grade is a very fun place to be! My students are creative, curious, silly, thoughtful, hardworking learners. We like learn through hands-on, interactive and engaging projects that challenge us to think outside the box. I also try to integrate technology into our everyday routine to prepare my students to be 21st Century learners.

Not everyone learns the same and being able to provided different materials and tasks that will reach every students learning style will allow them to reach their full potential.

My Project

My first graders need wireless bluetooth headphones to stay focused while using their iPads. We use our iPads daily with headphones for programs like Lexia/Core 5 and Symphony Math. More often than not with traditional wired headphones, they get caught up with plugging/unplugging (breaking the cord in the headphone jack), get tangled up in wires, or end up playing with/chewing the cord, causing the headphones to be useless. This causes many distractions when trying to focus on learning. By the end of the school year, most kids go without headphones because of the high rate of breakage, and become distracted by what is happening around them.

With wireless headphones, we will be able to stay focused on our learning and not on what is happening around us.
