This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a mixture of all things that are wonderful. They come to my English Language Arts class every day with a smile on their face (I've gotten REALLY good at seeing a smile even behind the mask!), ready to face challenges, get involved with academic discussions, and work together.

Funny, driven, kind, and unique-- these are some of the words that come to mind when describing my students.

My students come from various backgrounds. In my classroom, we have multiple countries and languages represented. We also have a varying level of background education and educational needs. We focus on celebrating our diversities and learning from each other.

My Project

I am requesting a grade-level set of headphones that students can use when working on computer programs in school and at home. Our district has prioritized getting technology into the hands of every student, which is fantastic! Now I am asking for your help with accessorizing those laptops.

We are facing the ever-changing challenges that Covid-19 has brought to the educational world.

One of the biggest shifts has been going from shared, community school supplies to everything being individualized. Headphones are typically an extra expense and many times are not brought in with school supplies during the first week of school. This project would fund enough headphones for every student in my grade level to have their own pair to use while at school and to use at home while working on enrichment activities.
