Help me give my students headphones with a microphone so that my students can fully participate in remote learning. Students will be able to hear instruction and have a microphone so they can collaborate with their peers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach a Freshman Seminar class to 40 students most of whom are Latino or Hispanic. My students come from homes where Spanish is the first language. My students' parents want their children to succeed and value an education, knowing that it is instrumental in providing them a strong future. My students, however, know the cost of higher education and how important success in their high school years are to be able to assist in making college affordable to them.
In freshman seminar we focus on study skills, organization, test taking skills and time management to help students earn and maintain the grades necessary to possibly earn scholarships.
We also focus on social and emotional learning as it is important to make sure that the focus on grades and getting to college be balanced with taking care of yourself and making sure you are being a teen. The mission of ASPIRA is to empower Puerto Ricans and other Latinos through advocacy, education and leadership development of its youth. The freshman seminar course is just one way to attempt to fulfill the mission in 9th grade.
My Project
Students are currently learning remotely. While students have Chromebooks provided to them by the school, many of the microphones are not adequate in picking up a student's voice due to background noise or placement of the Chromebook in relation to the student. Students also are reluctant to turn on their microphones as there are other students and family members in the room at the time class is being held. Providing each student with a headset with a microphone will reduce the noise around them so they can focus on their instruction, but will also provide a microphone for students to actively engage in class discussion and be able to be heard by the teacher and their peers. Students are missing the interaction with their peers and this will provide one way students can talk with one another about their learning.
