Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If you can't beat them, join them! Why not use the technology that is constantly in our students' faces on a daily basis as a positive? Our kids these days are becoming more sedentary as they sit and scroll through page after page of social media content. I say, let's get them out walking! I would like to challenge my students to walk for a healthier "me". These Fitbits that I hope you will partner with me to purchase for each of my fifth graders, is the technology I hope to use to excite them to put down their other devices and take up the challenge of becoming a healthier "me" as they track their daily steps.

Our 100th day of school, which will be our 5th graders 1,000th day of school since they began in kinder, is coming up in January, and I would like to challenge them to celebrate by walking a deliberate 1,000 steps, tracking their steps using this Fitbit.

It is the beginning of them consciously and deliberately taking planned steps for a better "me". Thank you in advance.
