Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These students face income, and social inequalities that may challenge them to find the opportunity for a positive mindset. Playing basketball fosters the development of peer relationships, self-esteem, leadership qualities and physical health. Many of my basketball players are always trying to balance between basketball and school. Finding time to complete homework and assignments has proven to be a challenge for many students over the years. Opening up a study hall period for students to take would be a convenient fix and could lower the stress level of the high school boys basketball team. High school can be an extremely stressful environment for a lot of people, and schools should make sure that all of their students are accounted for.

Study hall is to offer a dedicated period of time when students are able to just get their assignments done, healthy snacks will be incentive for having them stay focused and motivated to finish their work and focus on their basketball practice.

Healthy snacks help manage student athletes' hunger and boost their nutrition.
