Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my Kindergarteners to stay focused by providing them with a healthy snack! While many of my students in school are eligible for free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch many of my students are often hungry throughout the day. These scholars are always so motivated and eager to learn that I would like to ensure my student's basic needs are met. I teach in a high-need area of New York.

It's not just the poor families experiencing hunger now.

I know from experience that a hungry child is not a happy child. Hunger can lead to an inability to focus as well as behavioral outbursts.

My students will benefit from snacks and water to meet their basic needs. The time to act is now to strengthen our communities, and we have a unique opportunity to make these changes and support our students.
