Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of our scholars come from low-income households with 95% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. We also have a number of students making long commutes in the morning just to be present and on time at school. Our scholars, just like many of us adults, sometimes have to sacrifice their breakfasts to get to class on time.

A hungry student is an unfocused student.

The school day is a long one, many of our students struggle to make it until lunch and even then, many of our students reject the free school food and wait until they get home to eat. I would like to have a variety of healthy snacks to offer them to hold them over to lunch. A little pick me up to keep them focused on their studies can go a long way. Thank you for helping me feed my scholars bodies and minds.
