Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are Kindergarteners in a Full Time Special Education classroom. When students feel hungry, tired, cold, or unsafe, they cannot achieve the focus and motivation necessary to attempt their schoolwork. All students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch, but for some, this is not enough. Students may be late and miss breakfast, they may have a long time period to wait between meals, or they may just be extra hungry!

Students need to have their basic needs met before they can learn.

I am requesting healthy and "healthy-ish" snacks to store in our classroom. When needed, students from any class can choose a snack to curb their hunger. They can fill their bellies to fuel their brains!
