My Project

My students are active learners and eager to come to school. To prepare my students for the future and responsibilities as adults, we have to have a well-established classroom economy. Every student in my class has a job and they receive a paycheck every two weeks, with which they have to pay a monthly rent. Students can spend any extra money in our classroom store or on coupons for special privileges.

My students are the dentists, senators, chefs and teachers of the future.

The books and snacks that I have requested are going to help them reach their goals. "Reach for the Stars" is one of the books I asked for. It will introduce my students to complex, financial vocabulary and conversations, and it will empower them to think big about their own contributions to society.

The snacks will be used during our "banking" time when students receive their paychecks, to keep them fully engaged and full. In our classroom, we are focused on our whole-body health. Part of my job as an educator, is to teach my students good life habits, such as eating healthy foods and staying active. I've included popcorn, fruit snacks, Goldfish and seaweed, all snacks that my students enjoy.
