My students are amazing! This year, I am working with Kindergartners, first, and second graders. They are so excited to be in school. My students come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends. Together, we imagine new possibilities for our community, our country, and the world.
At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches, and 92% of the students are students of color.
My students have come from many different parts of the world, including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Ethiopia, Somalia, and the United States. The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language.
My students are the engineers, pilots, dentists, poets, and architects of the future. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.
My students are active learners and eager to be in school. Students who are hungry are too focused on when they will be eating next to pay attention to the important things going on in the classroom. By giving my students snack time, they will stay more focused on their studies. Snack time is something that my students look forward to.
In our classroom, we are focused on our whole-body health.
Part of my job as an educator is to teach my students good life habits, such as eating healthy foods and staying active. I've included goldfish crackers and fruit snacks, both healthy snacks that my students enjoy.
