Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my students to stay focused by filling their tummies! I teach bright and beautiful children in a high-need area of New York. While all of my students receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch, some of our families are financially unable to give their children snacks for the day, and my students are often hungry throughout the day. My students need snacks such as Fruit Snacks, SkinnyPop, plantain chips, pita chips, popcorners chips, water, etc. to keep them focused and energized for learning all day long! These snacks would give my students enough energy to stay focused on learning and grow their brains throughout the day!

If we can ensure they get a snack, they can focus better and build the fundamental knowledge necessary to go on to the next grade and continue to be successful throughout the school.

This project is important because our students have a very long day and need different yummy snacks to help them stay focused and engaged in learning. If we can give them the smallest thing, like an afternoon snack, they will be able to keep up their energy and learn even more in the exhausting afternoons.
