Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from a diverse community in Queens, NY. They come from a huge variety of economic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Over 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school works hand-in-hand with the community to ensure the highest quality education for all students who attend here.

We have a focus on service learning and global conservation, where the students and staff take part in fundraising and creating awareness about issues within the community and around the world. We make global partnerships and teach important citizenship values to our students through these worldwide connections.

My Project

These materials will help my students by providing them with the appropriate hygiene products to help with their maturing bodies. Many of our students are starting to mature and hygiene and self care is a big concern.

We are asking for a variety of hygiene products in order to accommodate both our male and female students.

Many students are embarrassed to ask for these hygiene products or may be unaware that these products will help them feel better as well as stay healthier. We are hoping these products will encourage conversations with their parents about the importance of self-care and hygiene at home.
