My Project

Overland High School is an international school because there are 50 languages spoken at our school. One may say that can pose some challenges, and I agree, but I am fortunate to be able to communicate with all students in a kinesthetic way. I teach a fitness class to 120 students, the majority identify as female.

In our fitness class, we do Pilates, Yoga, HITT, strength circuits, cardio exercises, Zumba, etc.

Fitbits will help students reach their optimal fitness levels and reap the benefits of exercise. They will be able to see firsthand their effort and possibly change their physical habits in the long term.

COVID-19 is still affecting students. Some students express that they don't feel comfortable coming to school because of the class sizes. These devices may encourage these students to exercise at home or work out on their own outside of the classroom. I am very excited to create this authentic experience with my students.
