My Students

A typical day in our classroom is full of learning, smiles, and fun! We are a family! We work hard because the goals for Kindergarten are huge and they can achieve whatever they are held accountable for. My students are diverse and come from a variety of backgrounds and background knowledge.

My students are excited and eager to learn and deserve the very best setting and materials to help them be successful.

We currently have old and faded foam mats to meet as a family at the "gathering place" and my students have expressed that they would love to have somewhere comfortable to meet and have their own space.

My Project

My kindergarten students eat lunch very early. Before the end of the day, they get hungry! We have set aside a snack time for them to eat a healthy snack so they can continue to focus on learning and not being hungry. We ask that parents send snacks for our students, but some are not able to do so. We also aren't able to choose what snacks the students are receiving to ensure healthy choices are being made. I would like to provide healthy nutritious snacks for my students so that parents who aren't able to send snack are not struggling to send something in and my students are not doing without. My students always take a thank you bite at snack and I have chosen some of the snacks my students have requested.

My students are young and love to move while learning.

Sometimes it rains and students are not able to get their energy out on the playground. My students ask to dance and get their wiggles out using GoNoodle. They have commented that they would like a big rug and their own space to dance and exercise on. Having a rug with colored squares and boundaries will allow my students to get their energy out in a safe and comfortable way. This will also give them their own space when we do movement activities or dances during lessons.

Having these materials will help my students keep their focus during the day and reach their potential and grade level standards.
