My Students

The third-grade students at our community school are eager to learn. Many of them come to school and are very low academically. I am always looking for ways to engage them.

The third graders want to be immersed in their learning.

I want my students to be excited to come to school and learn. I want them to think outside the box when it comes to ways to improve their reading. Unfortunately, many of our resources are online apps. We need headphones to focus on what is on the screen and not the environment around us.

My school is located on the East Side. It houses full-time pre-K to 8th grade. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. The area of the school is a high poverty zone. My students come from difficult upbringings, but they are worthy of the best education I can give them. I will do whatever it takes to make their learning engaging and effective.

My Project

We are asking for a variety of cleaning supplies to be used in the classroom. With 35 students in one classroom, germs are sure to be spread. With the flu season quickly approaching and Covid still looming, our students deserve a clean learning environment.

By giving the students each wipes and soap, germs are less likely to spread.

It is our goal to have each of our 35 students in school as often as possible. Winters in Buffalo are long and cold. Students are more likely than not going to get sick. If we can minimize the classroom germs, attendance should not drop.
