My Students

It is critical that students become aware of how their eating habits impact their health. If they are taught good nutrition at an early age it will stick with them for the rest of their lives. This project will encourage my students to create healthy eating habits.

I teach three different classes to 7th and 8th grade special education students.

My students' ability levels are as unique as they are. The majority of my students are on free and reduced price lunch. Despite everything, they come to school ready to learn each day.

My Project

With this project I will use the kidney table to break my students up into different groups. Each group of students will learn different ways that they can eat healthy and still enjoy their food. The students will get to sample healthy snacks that are available to them. The memory card will be used to capture the students learning in progress. Finally we will take everything we have learned and use the Cricut supplies, and ink to create a nutrition project. With these supplies we will be able to create posters for the entire school to see. This will allow us to spread the word about good nutrition and healthy eating to the entire school.

A donation to this project will show my students the importance of good nutrition and exercise.

These materials will teach my students valuable lessons they will be able to use for the rest of their lives. It is important that they are able to learn these healthy eating strategies at an early age.
