This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 4th graders are eager and energetic to learn! Almost all of my students live at or below the poverty level and sometimes they don’t get the necessities they need to thrive. My students may not have the consistency or routine they need in their home lives. As their teacher, I believe it is my job to ensure they receive consistency in school.

My Project

As you know children do not always make the best food choices and tend to always choose the drinks with the highest sugar content. In my classroom, we try to make students choose healthier options.

The drinks we chose do not have sugar contents, yet still, have a fruity flavor that can be appealing to the taste buds.

In a society in which unhealthy foods are mass-produced and targeted towards students that live in areas where most families live under the poverty level.

We want to make sure children have these options available. I know these options can be quite costly, so this is why we are asking for your help.
